ChuckleTV - Beta

ChuckleTV was designed to help me keep up with my current tv shows without me having to pay attention to their air dates, or even search for the torrents!

ChuckleTV utilizes data from Epguides and Mininova and Google! (legalznow i promiz) to both gather all the information needed for your tv show, and search for the torrents when it airs.

How it is currently configured and controlled:
ChuckleTV right now, is built off of an extremely light version of ChuckleBot, After configuring a server and an admin host-mask, you will receive full control of the bot.

Main ChuckleTV Commands

Watch (search term) : Typing this into the channel will have ChuckleTV search for the show you mentioned, and if its found, it will fill its internal database with all of the episodes set to air on or past the date you typed watch.
alt: watch (search term) sel (#) if more than one result was found
*Note: The search term you type in after watch will also be used as the term for searching mininova. So you can edit how you want to actually search for the torrent a bit here

<·@Chuck·> watch metalocalypse
ChuckleTV·> Multiple results found for metalocalypse:
ChuckleTV·> 0 Metalocalypse
ChuckleTV·> 1 Metalocalypse
ChuckleTV·> Please use Watch Tvshow SEL #, where # = 0-9 depending on search results

<·@Chuck·> watch metalocalypse sel 0
ChuckleTV·> Now watching Metalocalypse
ChuckleTV·> Next airing show:
ChuckleTV·> 2x15 Dethdad on 07/13/08

<·@Chuck·> watch weeds
ChuckleTV·> Now watching Weeds
ChuckleTV·> Next airing show:
ChuckleTV·> 4x5 No Man is Pudding on 07/14/08

Next (search term) : Will display the next airing episode for a TV show you search for, this is done in regex, so if you typed something like Next ., it would display every TV show with a name of at least one char in length.

<·@Chuck·> next weed
ChuckleTV·> Next airing episode for Weeds is 4 x 5: No Man is Pudding on 07/14/08

<·@Chuck·> next metal
ChuckleTV·> Next airing episode for Metalocalypse is 2 x 15: Dethdad on 07/13/08

<·@Chuck·> next .

ChuckleTV·> Next airing episode for Weeds is 4 x 5: No Man is Pudding on 07/14/08
ChuckleTV·> Next airing episode for Metalocalypse is 2 x 15: Dethdad on 07/13/08
ChuckleTV·> Next airing episode for Psych is 3 x 1: The Ghost In You on 07/18/08

Stop watching (term) : Will stop watching the tv show you request

<·@Chuck·> stop watching weeds
ChuckleTV·> No longer watching Weeds

<·@Chuck·> stop watching metalocalypse
ChuckleTV·> No longer watching Metalocalypse

What happens when a show is ready to air?

ChuckleTV will tell you when the show is ready, and will start searching (by default, every ten minutes)

ChuckleTV·> Metalocalypse 2 x 15 is set to air today 07/13/08
ChuckleTV·> Searching for Metalocalypse 2 x 15

Once it finds the torrent it will grab it then execute it into your default torrent program.

ChuckleTV·> Searching for Metalocalypse 2 x 15
ChuckleTV·> Torrent found: Metalocalypse-S02E15-[ENG][webrip]-Dethdad ITALFYAH avi - [42/3]: http://mininova.org/get/***
ChuckleTV·> Torrent executed.
ChuckleTV·> Next airing episode for Metalocalypse is 2 x 16: Snakes N Barrels II (Part 1) on 07/20/08

There you have it!!!
no, this program has not been released yet

side note: an algorithm is kinda sorta planned for torrent filtering.

As of now torrents are only filtered by seeds, then private trackers are kicked out, and the search term is then matched up a bit more strict than MiniNova uses.
So basically as of now the hit rate for good/proper torrents is already pretty high, but the algorithm will include scene release info, average file sizes, custom filtering per tv show if needed, among other things

Currently testing a unique way of identifying roughly 93% of all fake torrents (Yes the 93% was grabbed out of my ass. It's a conservative ass grab though. I was originally going to put 98%)
All .RAR and parted .RAR torrents without a Sample.avi is fake, and by all I mean no proper release group (read EZTV) would release a torrent without a sample.avi unless the file itself was a .avi. (read dot a v i which is why it's a instead of an)
This being said, even if the torrent is legit, it's obviously recorded/encoded/released by a complete moron and nobody wants to deal with or watch crap like that anyway.

If this turns out to be just as unreliable (yes I've seen fake .avi's coming out as well, how the hell can I identify that without actually downloading it? Luckily it's very rare.) I will add a scene release filter, but I really don't want to limit the bot THAT much.
Any brighter ideas to identify fake torrents? Mail me.
